An elementary school has more than $20,000 in damages after being vandalized inside and around the school.

Police were called to White Oaks Elementary School after a construction crew found destruction and signs of arson around the property of the school. There was damage inside and around the school, including the new playground.

The vandalism is thought to have happened overnight between July 2 and July 3. School is out of session for the summer, and the building is under construction.

The construction crew found the signs of fire and destruction at around 5:40 a.m. on July 3.
