Leesburg police seek bank robber

Leesburg police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a bank Friday afternoon.

LEESBURG, Va. — Police are investigating a bank robbery that happened at a M&T Bank at 341 E. Market St. in Leesburg, Va. around 4:30 p.m. November 19.

Police say a man entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding cash. According to police, the robber implied he had a weapon, but none was seen.

The teller handed the robber an undisclosed amount of money. The robber then took off on foot.

When police arrived, the robber was nowhere to be found.

The police released a description of the robber as a White man in his 50s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, between 170 and 180 pounds, with gray hair that is parted. He was wearing a black jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, and a black gaiter style face mask.
