WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Meet Doodlebug, a two-year-old Terrier/Shar-Pei mix!

Doodlebug came to the Washington Humane Society after animal control officers found him roaming around the nation's capital.

He is a medium-energy dog looking for a dog and kid-free home where he can relax. Doodlebug enjoys going on outings like jogs and hikes with volunteers of the humane society.

One of those volunteers is Dolores Hamilton. "Doodlebug is one of the easier dogs to handle on a leash," she says. "He's a good running buddy (he can go for miles) and is also a happy hiker. After he's gotten some energy out from a run or walk, he's also a cute cuddler," said Dolores Hamilton, a volunteer.

Doodlebug has been receiving training with WHS staff to make sure he's ready to quickly settle into his new home. His adoption fee has also been waived.
