WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Hello there! My name is Bunce, and I'm a service dog in training. I'm spending two years with WUSA9 reporter Andrea McCarren. Thanks so much for stopping by my puppy blog.

You can read about my adventures with Andrea here, and follow me on Instagram at @BunceOn9

Jan 6.

This week is VERY important training for Andrea. With the help of Warrior Canine Connection trainer extraordinaire Danielle Young, we are teaching Andrea to function without me. You see, I'm staying with Danielle 24/7 for some very special training while Andrea reports the news all by herself. I cannot imagine how stressful this must be for her.

But this is good for Andrea, so she does not become too dependent on my assistance. Danielle tells me that on our first morning apart, Andrea overslept by TWO HOURS. Poor Andrea. She had no one to get her up bright and early to take her on a long, brisk walk. I cannot imagine how much she misses me. Don't tell Andrea, but quite frankly, I'm enjoying myself. I adore Danielle and have loved meeting some of the other WCC service dogs in training. I do, on the other paw, miss my morning snuggles in Andrea's bed.

Since we won't be reunited until Monday, I don't have access to Andrea's laptop to write this blog. I will do my best… but may not have regular posts again until Tuesday. Wish me luck as I progress in my mission, but more importantly, wish poor Andrea luck working without her sidekick (that would be me, Bunce). Sources at WUSA9 tell me she spends her days looking at photos of me…

Have an outstanding Wednesday! Love, Bunce

Happy Tuesday! Andrea says I, Bunce, received more holiday cards than she EVER has. They come to the station marked "Bunce. Channel 9." Somehow they get to me.
I was honored to get some very nice gifts too. Among them, a new selection of bow ties from my West Coast couturier Lily Wong. She MADE them, so they are extra special. And I can mix and match some of the collars with the ties.
Andrea suggested that I model them for all of you, so enjoy today's gallery!

Another spectacular weekend! Hope you enjoyed yours as much as we did ours. One of my resolutions for 2016 is to keep Andrea away from her technology more. Every moment she's on her phone or laptop is time she's not throwing a ball for me.

So, I took her on another hike, this time to Sugarloaf Mountain in Maryland. The weather was perfect and the view from the top of the mountain, beautiful. I think all this hiking will help Andrea get in shape for the Marine Corps 10k in October. Yes, all of you have plenty of time to train… Maybe start by -walking- 10k?

By the time you read this, I will probably be back at Warrior Canine Connection training class for our regular Monday morning adventures. Andrea says I am like a teenager after summer break. I have un-learned some key commands and I'm pretty stubborn about re-learning them. Wonder if other service dogs in training take a few steps backward once in a while? I suspect, like my black nose turned pink in the winter, this too is normal.

Have a wonderful Monday. If you haven't kept your New Year's Resolutions, start some new ones!
