MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Two barking dogs helped save a man who was helplessly stuck in the mud Monday morning near the Potomac River in Montgomery County, Md., rescuers said.
The man got stuck in the mud and fell out of sight about 50 yards away from the Chesapeake and Ohio (C&O) Canal towpath. The two dogs' yelping alerted a nearby cyclist, who then found the man and safely removed him from the mud.
No humans or dogs were hurt in the incident, according to officials.
A social media post from Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service shows the man's legs covered in mud. The post also shows the two barking heroes wetting their whistles with some water.
