July 11th is National Mojito Day! Celebrate by trying one of these WUSApproved drink recipes that put a twist on your everyday cocktail!

Bourbon Mojito:

Ingredients: 2 tbsp. fresh lime juice, 1 tbsp. granulated sugar, 1-1/2 oz. bourbon, club soda, lime wedge and mint leaves for garnish

This mojito is sure to give you an extra kick. For one drink, mix mint, lime juice and sugar in a glass. Then, fill the cup with ice and add bourbon. Stir and garnish.

Cucumber Mojito:

Ingredients: 2 cups cold water, 1 cup coarsely chopped cucumber, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup fresh lime juice, 12 mint leaves, 3/4 cup rum, 1 cup sparkling water, chilled, 1 cup crushed ice, 4 mint sprigs, 4 cucumber slices, 4 lime wedges

This one requires a bit more blending, with a classic taste. Simply place two cups of water and chopped cucumber into a blender. In another cup, crush sugar, lime juice and mint leaves. Then, mix in rum, a half cup of your strained cucumber mixture, and a fourth cup of sparkling water. Pour this mixture over ice, and garnish with extra leaves.

The "Shortcut" Mojito:

Ingredients: 2 oz. mint infused simple syrup, 1 1/2 oz. white rum, 1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice, 4 oz. club soda, fresh mint leaves and/or fresh lime wedge for garnish

If you're short on time, ingredients, or creativity, try out this easy mix. All you need to do is combine the ingredients in a shaker and pour over ice.
