WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- What better way to benefit homeless pets and than to hang out on the Capitol Riverfront? The DC Walk for the Animals is happening Sunday September 18th. The entry fee is $35 for walkers. If you are under 21, then the fee is $20. You can bring your furry family friend!

All walkers are able to participate in Pet-a-Palooza and Barktoberfest where there are contests for your dogs, entertainment for kids, live music, food trucks/vendors and much more. Adults can enjoy beer tastings from local craft brewers. The events are presented by the Washington Humane Society-Washington Animal Rescue League. Proceeds benefit the 60,000 animals they serve every year.

Get you tickets at www.dclovesanimals.org. The event is located at the corner of M Street, SE & First Street SE.
