Take advantage of the beautiful weather this weekend in and around the District! Here are our top pick events for art lovers, bowlers and foodies alike.

Art enthusiasts unite

The Columbus Day traffic can wait! DuPont Circle’s ‘First Friday Art Walk’ is Friday, October 6 – and you won’t want to miss this. Art enthusiasts can come out for free self-guided walking tours through art galleries, museums, embassies and more! 15 spots are on this week’s list, including the Embassy of Peru, Heurich House Museum, and Swann Street Gallery. You can find more information on the music, events, and maybe even some mediation going on this Friday on their website or on Facebook.

Bowl and beat Breast Cancer

Take “the Fright out of Breast Cancer” this October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month at everyone’s favorite bowling spot (and cocktail bar) Lucky Strike! The nationally-acclaimed bowling brand is partnering with Breastcancer.org to raise funds for the charity’s campaign through the end of the month. The Lucky Strike location in Gallery Place will donate a portion of proceeds from sales of limited-edition charity bracelets, the Pink Martini cocktail and select menu items.

Mouth-watering food fest

Come to Taste of Bethesda with an empty stomach! More than 50 Bethesda restaurants will offer sample-size plates, including some of our favorites like Jaleo, Georgetown Cupcake, and Olazzo and several new restaurants debuting this year. Admission is free and taste tickets are sold in bundles of four tickets for $5. Five stages of music and dancing and a kids area are some other attractions at this annual street festival!
