March for Babies in Prince George’s County

On April 28, you can join members of Prince George's County at Watkins Regional Park to march for babies in the March of Dimes.

Did you know that premature birth is the leading cause of death among babies in the United States? It affects about 380,000 babies—that’s 1 in 10—born each year, including approximately 7,408 in Maryland.

On April 28, you can join members of Prince George’s County at Watkins Regional Park to march for babies in the March of Dimes.

Walter Kirkland is the 2018 Prince George’s March for Babies chair and is marching for his son who was born prematurely and is now a junior in college.

March for Babies is a truly memorable and rewarding event for the whole family,” says Kirkland.

“We celebrate and honor children and parents who experienced the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or special care nursery. We’ll recognize these families throughout the day with a Superhero Sprint for kids, complete with a purple cape, a symbolic lei for mom and dad and loads of fun in the kids’ zone. In addition, we’ll be adding to the fun with a live deejay and free breakfast and lunch sponsored by Safeway and Subway.”

Money raised goes towards exposure, research and development, families in need of support.

Registration begins at 8am on Saturday April 28. Sign up today at marchforbabies.org.
