Pumpkin picking and hayrides at Jumbo’s

Travel back to your childhood and make it a date with the whole family at the Jumbo Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival. Starting this weekend, Maryland’s favorite patch is hosting pumpkin picking, hayrides, pony rides, and face painting every weekend until October 31. Get lost with your partner in the corn maze and end the evening with a romantic horse drawn carriage ride. Admission and hayrides are always free!

Go exploring

Take a hike at the closest mountain to DC if you want to see amazing fall foliage! Sugarloaf Mountain is known for its beautiful foliage vantage points like the White Rocks overlooks. On the way home, treat yourself at Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard only a mile from the base of the mountain, open noon to six every day! You can also picnic while admiring the mountains as you sip on a cool glass of wine.

Get spooked on a ghost tour

Halloween is right around the corner and if you are up for a little paranormal activity make sure you hang on tight to your paramour at a Nightly Spirits DC Ghost Tour. This walking pub tour will take you on a journey through local haunted spots. The watering holes on the tour are sure to have a few ‘spirits’ of their own. Sip on a cool beverage as you listen to stories of the undead!
