The scenic setting of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley is just an hour or so outside the beltway. Old Town Winchester is a quaint small town with big offerings in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

On Saturday, December 9, the area will host the following events:

Holly Jolly Celebration
Enjoy caroling and holiday activities including free holiday wagon rides from 1-3 p.m. In addition, local shops and restaurants will run specials all day.

Santas Headquarters
No waiting in line for Ol’ Saint Nick this year. Instead, parents can take a number then have children work on holiday craft projects while waiting to meet Santa Claus at the Godfrey Miller House, a Winchester Parks & Recreation holiday site, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Horse Drawn Carriage Rides on the House!
Free horse drawn wagon rides will be offered from 1-3 p.m. in and around Old Town Winchester. Meet in front of The Shenandoah Valley Civil War Museum to pick up a ticket.

Jingle Bell 5k Run
Go run with the Winchester Youth Development Center as they host the 6th Annual YDC Apple Capital Jingle Bell 5k with registration ranging from $29 to $39 depending on how early you sign up. Got little runners in your fleet? Sign the up for the Frosty Fun Run for just $10 and let them burn off all of their energy before the car ride home! The races benefit the non-profit center and Shenandoah University Track & Field program.
