WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Thanks to an act of congress, when the snow hits our area this week it will not be illegal to sled in a certain part of D.C.

It seems like only yesterday that Capitol Police were enforcing a more than 140-year-old law keeping the Capitol grounds free of sleigh riders. But now you will not end up in the slammer for sledding. According to the Washingtonian Magazine, an omnibus spending bill was recently passed last month and President Obama signed it into law.
