Wind Chills in the 0s, 10s Ahead
The next blast of arctic air is on the way and arrives during the day on Tuesday. By Wednesday, high temperatures will struggle to reach much above the freezing mark.
Tonight clouds increase with lows in the 30s. Tuesday, our next clipper system sends the next push of arctic air in this direction. Tuesday will begin with a mostly to partly cloudy sky and temps reaching the upper 40s by mid-day. The front pushes in, creating a windy and progressively colder afternoon as temps fall from the 40s through the 30s. A few flurries or snow showers will be possible into the late afternoon and evening, with snow in the mountains ramping up throughout the day.
Upslope snow showers and squalls in the Allegheny Front could accumulate to 4 - 8" in the highest elevations between Tuesday and Tuesday night. A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect there.
Wednesday will be breezy and very cold. Morning lows will be in the teens in the burbs, with low to mid 20s in the city. Factoring in the winds, feels-like temps Wednesday morning will be in the 0s.
Afternoon highs under sunshine will stay below freezing on Wednesday, and it remains breezy with feels-like temps in the 10s and 20s and afternoon highs in the low to mid 30s.
Another weak weather system looks to send some flurries or light snow showers our way by Thursday. We'll warm back up through the 40s to near 50 by the end of next weekend.
