Why You Should Get to Know Pumpkins Better
Love them or hate them we all have an opinion about pumpkins and what to do with the fall fruit.
We carve pumpkins, decorate with them, have pumpkin flavored drinks and yes make pies with them. And, those awesome pumpkin colored fashions makes fall so much fun.
Now, doctors at Cone Health want you to know the healthy side of the versatile fruit. Yes, pumpkin is a fruit, not a vegetable. Tuesday at Cone's Women's Hospital a pediatrician and obstetrician spent the morning pushing the healthy power of pumpkins and the babies got cute pumpkin colored caps made by volunteers.
They say the fruit is loaded with potassium, magnesium and vitamins A and C, which is especially good for babies, children and pregnant women.
This brain burning news comes just at the right time--Thanksgiving and Christmas, which is when a lot of pumpkin pies will be consumed.
