Woman killed in Forestville quadruple shooting

FORESTVILLE, Md. (WUSA) -- A woman is dead after an overnight quadruple shooting in Forestville, Prince George's County police said.

Police have identified the victim as 49-year-old Joanne Woods of Mason Street in District Heights.

The fatal shooting happened in the 6600 block of Hil Mar Drive in Forestville around 1:30 a.m., authorities said. 

When officers got to the scene they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four others were also shot during the incident, according to police. One victim is in critical condition and two victims have non-life-threatening injuries. They were all taken to the hospital; two have since been released.

The preliminary investigation reveals the victims were standing outside when they were shot by a suspect who was in a car. That car then sped from the area.
 
Detectives do not believe this was a random act. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for any information leading to an arrest in the case.
