The holiday season is now officially upon us. For many people this is a time of hope and happiness. Unfortunately too many children here in our area aren’t feeling much happiness or even home. That’s because 1 out of 4 kids in the D.C. area are living below the poverty level right now. This year, let’s work together to Give the Gift of Hope.

WUSA9 has partnered with The Volunteers of America Chesapeake to help get toys, gifts and hope to needy families in the District, in Maryland and in Virginia.

The best news? You don’t have to drive anywhere, stand in long lines or do any gift wrapping – we’ll do all of that for you! To make Giving Hope as simple as possible, this is a VIRTUAL TOY DRIVE. Simply choose from the links below to be taken to the Amazon wish lists of local children. After you choose a gift or two (or maybe more!) the toys will be sent directly to the children via the Volunteers of America.

Together we can make this the happiest time of the year…let’s Give the Gift of Hope to every child!

Starting Thursday, Nov. 24, you can choose from the following wish lists to give hope and a happy holiday season to local kids in need:

Washington, D.C.
