WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Time Warner has announced it will split off from its magazine unit.

The mutlinational media conglomerate says this will allow it to focus on its television networks and movies.

Time, Sports Illustrated and People are among the magazines that will be affected by the break up.
