TAMPA, Florida (WTSP) - More than 100 passengers are once again en route to Tampa International Airport after their Southwest Airlines jet skidded off the taxiway at Long Island MacArthur Airport.
None of the 129 passengers on Southwest flight 4695 reported any injuries, but it took about five hours to get them onto a new plane bound for Tampa.
The Boeing 737 jet was on the taxiway and apparently mis-negotiated a turn at 6:22 a.m., according to the FAA. The plane entered a grassy area and sank into the mud.
The plane will be lifted and towed back to the hangar, the FAA said.
It's not clear if Wednesday night's storm played a role in the accident, according to CBS News.
