(WUSA9) -- Thursday, a civil complaint has been filed in the case of Casey Schulman, a fourth year student at the University of Virginia who died in a boating accident.
Schulman, a 20-year-old from Falls Church, was tragically killed in a boating accident at the Caribbean island of Dominica in December 2012. She was struck by a dive boat's propeller as she and more than 50 other students visited the island as part of "Semester at Sea." Police say Schulman was swimming near a boat owned by a local dive shop, and the captain was reversing the boat when its propeller hit Schulman.
Kellogg Huber Hansen Todd Evans & Figel, PLLC says they have been retained as co-counsel to represent the Schulman family.
