Drake's having a gold-star week.
His new album, Nothing Was the Same, made its debut at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart, with 658,000 copies sold - the year's second-largest sales week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.(Justin Timberlake, naturally, reigns with The 20/20 Experience, which sold 968,000 in its first week.) It's Drake's third No. 1 album and his top-selling week ever.
Kings of Leon's Mechanical Bull locked into the No. 2 spot (110,000). Cher had a personal best with a solo album, Closer to the Truth, which ranked No. 3 (63,000), and Elton John bubbled up to No. 4 withThe Diving Board (47,000).
The top four albums were all debuts; Jack Johnson's From Here to Now to You, which held the top spot last week, dropped to No. 5 (37,000).
