Athens, GA (Sports Network) - Kentavious Caldwell-Pope recorded a double-
double with a game-high 24 points along with 10 rebounds as the Georgia
Bulldogs defeated the Kentucky Wildcats, 72-62, in SEC play at Stegeman
Coliseum.
Nemanja Djurisic contributed 12 points and six boards off the bench for the
Bulldogs (15-15, 9-8 SEC). Donte' Williams put up 10 points and eight rebounds
as Georgia won a second game in a row.
For the Wildcats (20-10, 11-6), Archie Goodwin scored a team-high 20 points
to go with six rebounds. Willie Cauley-Stein recorded a double-double with 10
points and 11 boards. Kyle Wiltjer added 12 points and Ryan Harrow added 11
points as Kentucky lost a second consecutive game.
In the first half, Kentucky was held to 1-of-9 from beyond the arc. Georgia
made 43.5 percent from the floor and 5-of-9 from long-range, en route to the
31-26 advantage at the break.
In the second half the Bulldogs cooled to 31 percent shooting but held on by
nailing 21-of-24 shots from the free-throw line to hold off the Wildcats.
Kentucky was held to a mere 6-of-26 beyond the arc and 10-of-18 from the foul-
line, while Georgia made 7-of-15 3-point attempts and 27-of-34 free-throw
tries on the night.
