Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - C.J. Aiken scored 15 points in 18 minutes
as the Saint Joseph's Hawks completed an 81-44 rout of the Rhode Island Rams
in an Atlantic 10 Conference matchup at Hagan Arena.
Ronald Roberts added a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds for Saint
Joseph's (17-11, 8-7 A-10), which also received 11 points and six assists from
Chris Wilson. Carl Jones chipped in 10 points to help the Hawks win for the
third time in four outings.
Nikola Malesevic and Andre Malone scored 10 points apiece for URI (8-20,
3-12).
The Rams were limited to just 26.7 percent shooting from the field and missed
all seven of their attempts from 3-point range before the break. Saint
Joseph's took a 39-20 lead into halftime after it went 15-of-26 from the floor
and registered 20 bench points.
URI saw its deficit grow after the break as it made good on only 31.3 percent
of its shots from the field. Roberts scored 11 of his points in the second
half.
The Hawks went 10-of-28 from beyond the arc and limited the Rams to just one
make on 20 tries from 3-point range.
