LANDOVER, Md. (WUSA) -- Thirty-five hundred families in need showed up to FedEX Field on Tuesday afternoon to get turkeys and other meals for Thanksgiving.
Social Services Agency in Prince George's County and the Washington Redskins teamed up to help provide the food for the families.
"We got a couple of people unemployed (in our family), so it helps," Kim Barnes, on of the recipients told WUSA9 Reporter, Scott Broom.
The Redskins have been giving away food for the families for more than 10 years.
More than one million pounds of food has been distributed by the team since 2002, one Redskins spokesperson said.
"It's wonderful, I feel good all over," Barnes said.
