WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- A rear axle problem has prompted Chrysler to recall 278,000 vehicles, again.
The recall affects many Ram 1500 and Dakota pickup trucks as well as Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango SUVs from model years 2009 through 2012.
A nut in the rear axle can loosen and cause it to lock up, which can cause a driver to lose control.

The automaker says it will install a retainer to keep the part in place starting next month.
