MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man has been charged with DUI and other offenses after allegedly crashing his Jeep into two cars and then fleeing on foot in Manassas.
According to Manassas City Police, officers went to the scene of a reported hit-and-run crash involving three vehicles on Sunday at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Liberia Ave and Prince William Parkway.
One of the victims told police that the driver of a Jeep Cherokee struck his vehicle and a second vehicle before fleeing on foot, say police.
Occupants from both vehicles that were struck were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
Police say officers searched the area using a description of the suspect from the victims and found 26-year-old Omar Antonio Lopez-Rios of Nokesville hiding in the bushes in the rear of Davis Ford Shopping Center. Lopez-Rios was arrested and charged with two counts of Hit and Run with Injury, Driving Under the Influence, and Operating a Motor Vehicle in the State of Virginia Without a Valid Virginia Operator's License.
He was held on a $10,000 bond, say police.
His court date was set for July 30.
