LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- Loudoun County Fire-Rescue Services officials say Tuesday morning they rescued a man from a roof after he fell at the Federal Aviation Administration building in Leesburg.
According to officials, crews responded to the FAA building at 825 East Market Street for a fall on the roof at approximately 8:15 a.m. They found a man suffering from a head injury after a ground level fall on the roof of the multi-story building, say officials.
Crews on the roof immobilized and wrapped the man up for an aerial rescue, say officials. He was then placed into a Stokes basket and lowered to firefighters and paramedics using the bucket of a ladder truck.
The man was then taken to a helicopter and airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital for treatment.
