FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA) -- Two people, including the wife of the driver, died in a single-car crash in Virginia on Friday morning.
It happened at around 6:09 a.m., at the westbound I-66 and Fairfax Parkway exit ramp, police said.
"The car drove off the road and struck a tree. Two female passengers died at the scene. The male driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to Fairfax Inova Hospital," police said.
The passengers were identified as Shvrel Scott-Waller, 53, of Chester,
Pa., wife of driver Clarence R. Waller, and Juanita Ann Waller, 54, of
Lanham, Md.
The Virginia State Police Fairfax Division Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene. Alcohol was not a factor, but police say fatigue may have been a factor.
Police are investigating what caused the car to crash. Charges are pending.
