MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA) - A man accused of being the East Coast Rapist decided not to plead guilty in Prince William County court.
Aaron Thomas of New Haven, Conn. is charged with abducting three teenage trick-or-treaters in the county in 2009 and raping two of them at gunpoint in a wooded area.
"I don't know which is right and which is wrong. I don't know what I'm doing," said Thomas in court on Tuesday morning.
Thomas is allegedly responsible for 17 sexual assaults from Virginia to Rhode Island over 12 years.

Thomas was arrested in New Haven in March 2011 after authorities began tracking him and a cigarette butt from Thomas was used to make a DNA match, according to authorities. Thomas was transported to Virginia in November 2011.
All of the attacks attributed to the East Coast Rapist occured at night. Authorities say he stalked and studied his victims in neighborhood he knew well.
Thomas reportedly grew up in Berryville, Virginia. He went to high school in Prince George's County, Maryland.
