WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- This coming Saturday, U.S. citizens were supposed to be able to apply for or renew passport books or passport cards at some non-State Department passport application acceptance facilities. An update on Travel.State.Gov, however, says that won't happen after all at some facilities.
The update reads:
"Due to the budget sequestration, Department of State Passport Agencies will not be participating and will be CLOSED on Saturday, March 9.*
Many Non-Department of State Passport Acceptance Facilities, such as post offices, clerks of court, and libraries will still participate."
