GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a Virginia man has been charged after he led police on a car chase through an Albany suburb, hitting two police vehicles along the way.
Police tell local media outlets that 34-year-old Nathanael David Hallmark of Richmond, Va., was driving in the town of Guilderland Saturday night when he was pulled over by officers, then fled the scene.
Police from Guilderland and Altamont gave chase. Officials say Hallmark drove over spike strips that police had placed at an intersection, but he continued driving and hit two Guilderland police vehicles. He was stopped a short time later.
Police say the charges against him include attempted assault, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, reckless driving and speeding. He's being held in Albany County Jail. It couldn't be determined if he had a lawyer.
