Champion Power equipment generator model 41332
WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- The Consumer Product Safety Commission says Champion Power Equipment is recalling about 8,600 portable generators that were sold at Costco due to a fire hazard.
According to the CPSC, fuel can leak from the generator's carburetor. It says there are at least 11 reports of fuel leaks, including eight reports of the generators catching fire and two reports of property damage.
This recall involves two models of Champion Power Equipment portable generators: model number 41332 and model number. You can find the model number and serial number on the side of the generator with the handle, on a tag on the crossbar above the yellow generator end cap. Here's the specific list from CPSC:

These generators were sold at Costco Wholesale stores nationwide from December 2011 through July 2012 for about $699.
If you have one of these generators, immediately stop using it and Champion Power Equipment for a free repair kit to be installed by an authorized dealer. You can also return the unit to Costco for a full refund.
