(WUSA9) -- Firefighters in Anne Arundel County have brought the fire under control that started this morning.
Anne Arundel County Fire says the department got the call at approximately 11:40 a.m. Wednesday for multiple dwellings on fire at 2685 Compass Drive.
When the Battalion Chief arrived he found a four-unit duplex with heavy fire showing from the rear of the duplex. A total of 64 firefighters from Anne Arundel County, Annapolis and the Navail Academy responded to put the fire out.
According to the fire department, there has been severe damage to two of the units and minor damage to the third and fourth unit due to the fire.
There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. The Red Cross is on the scene assisting the homeowners of the three damaged units. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The fire spokesperson said the fire escalated quickly to three alarms.
