HYATTSVILLE, Md. (WUSA 9) -- A driver was killed after a multiple car accident on Monday morning, police said.
According to Prince George's County Police, Landover Road (MD 202) was shut down in both directions near Firehouse Road for several hours due to the accident.
Prince George's County Public Information Officer Corporal Clinton Copeland told WUSA 9 that emergency personnel received the call about 11:47 a.m. Monday for a motor vehicle collision.

Copeland said it appears that a Charger traveling at a high rate of speed first struck an arrow sign directing traffic around a construction zone, before hitting a Ford Expedition and then went head-on into an unoccupied dump truck parked in the construction zone.
The driver of the Charger was pronounced dead at the scene, Copeland said. Two other occupants in the Charger were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, according to Copeland.
One person in the Expedition was also transported, police said, and a construction worker was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being hit by some debris.
