FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA) -- Frederick police say a man who admitted to being involved in a hit and run accident on Monday morning was driving without a license.

Monday at 8:40 a.m. Frederick police officers responded to the scene of a hit and run vehicle accident in the area of Rosemont Avenue and Montevue Lane.

A woman told them that a white Acura struck her vehicle and refused to stop after the accident. She followed the vehicle for a short distance down Willowdale Drive while on the phone with police.

Two officers found the white Acura in the parking lot of Willowdale Crossing Apartments.

An officer found a man a parking lot near one of the buildings who matched the description the victim gave officers. Michael Charles Latimer admitted he was involved in the accident, and a driver status check revealed that he didn't possess a license, say police.

Latimer was arrested and charged with driving without a license and various citations regarding failure to stop and remain at scene of a property damage accident.
