WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Flights were grounded at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in relation to the incident at Navy Yard on Monday morning, according to Rob Yingling with MWAA.
Approximately 30 planes were held during the ground stop, which applied only to departing flights.
Later, FAA lifted the ground stop at Reagan National Airport. Flights have begun to depart, but officials expect residual delays as airport returns to normal operations.
Officials say operations are normal at Dulles International Airport.
