WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Redskins defensive end, Stephen Bowen and Tiffany Bowen, welcomed their twin sons, Stephen and Skyler but had to go through the unspeakable pain of losing one of them.
Since both babies lungs were not fully developed, they were rushed to the NICU and put on ventilators. They were born four months too early. Skyler weighed only 1 pound 7 ounces and Stephen 1 pund 6 ounces.
Skyler died 10 days after the birth.
The Bowens share their story with WUSA9. Skyler's Gift Foundation helps families who have lost premature babies and supports research to decease premature loss.
