WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Green Line trains single tracked between Naylor Road and Southern Avenue after a broken rail was spotted outside Naylor Road on Wednesday morning.
Metro officials say crews repaired the broken 39-foot section of rail and only residual delays occurred in both directions at 10:25 a.m.
Officials say the rail probably broke due to the temperature change. According to officials, breaks happen more frequently when it's extremely cold outside or there are large fluctuations in temperatures.
