WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- DC police are looking for the car that fatally struck a 16-year-old girl in NW D.C. on Friday.
DC police say Tarsha Jackson was crossing the intersection of First Street and New York Ave. with green signal when a 2003 Pontiac Bonneville struck her.
Jackson landed in the roadway and was then run over by a tan SUV with DC plates. The SUV kept traveling eastbound on New York Avenue, police say.
The driver of the Pontiac was not injured and remained on the scene.
DC Fire and EMS transported Jackson to a local hospital in critical condition but died on Saturday due to her injuries, police say.
