WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- The Washington DC Guardian Angels patrolled Morris Road in Southeast Wednesday morning, in the hopes that students will feel safe on their way to school.

A high school senior was shot and robbed while walking to school there Tuesday morning. 

The robber shot the girl in the leg and took her black laptop bag. Police found the bag a few blocks away, but the suspect was gone. 

The patrols ended at 9 a.m.
