WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- On Halloween night, more than 157 people got free cab rides home in the D.C. area as part of a SoberRide program, say Washington Regional Alcohol Program officials.
The non-profit ran the free ride program from 10 p.m. on Wednesday night through 4 a.m. Thursday to keep would-be drunk drivers from behind the wheel.
SoberRide was offered in D.C., Montgomery and Prince George's county's in Maryland and Arlington, Fairfax, eastern Loudoun and Prince William counties in Virginia.
