WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- The U.S. District Court of Appeals in D.C. is expected to hear oral arguments this week in a case regarding the classification of medical use cannabis.
The case, Americans for Safe Access v. Drug Enforcement Administration, will determine whether or not the scientific evidence on the therapeutic applications of cannabis proves it should be reclassified.
The ASA claims the U.S. federal government classifies cannabis as a highly dangerous drug with no medical use.
A change in designation could change availability and access.

The Court Of Appeals will hear arguments starting at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
