Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Legendary golfers Jack Nicklaus and Arnold
Palmer will headline the PNC Father/Son Challenge, which returns for the first
time since 2008.
Nicklaus, who will play with his son Gary, and Palmer, who will compete with
grandson Will Wears, headline the field that combined for 67 major
championships.
Fifteen of the 18 players will compete with their sons. Along with Palmer
teaming with his grandson, Bernhard Langer and Fuzzy Zoeller will compete with
their daughters.
To qualify, players must have won either a major championship or a Players
Championship in their career.
The field includes - Steve Elkington, Nick Faldo, Raymond Floyd, Hale Irwin,
Lee Janzen, Langer, Davis Love III, Sandy Lyle, Larry Nelson, Nicklaus, Mark
O'Meara, Palmer, Vijay Singh, Dave Stockton, Curtis Strange, Lee Trevino,
Lanny Wadkins and Zoeller.
Nelson is the 2-time defending champion, and has won the title three times in
all. He and son Drew won in 2004 and 2008, while the elder Nelson teamed with
son Josh to win in 2007.
