LAUREL, MD (WUSA)-- Saturday morning dozens of people will lace up their shoes and hit the streets in Olney for Bita's Run.
The 5k raises money for the Living Well With Cancer program at the Tai Sophia Institute.
The program provides free acupuncture and wellness coaching to cancer patients.
Bita Twiford started the race in the 90's.
After she died in 1996 from complications of cancer, the 5k was renamed "Bita's Run" in her memory.
This morning the patients themselves explain how the Living Well With Cancer program has helped them.
Bita's Run is Saturday at 9am at the Fair Hill Plaza in Olney.
